We had previously identified John Royes 1752-1832 as our earliest Royes. We then identified his father as William Royes - no information about birth or marriage.
We have information that a William Royes was born in 1723 in Lincolnshire. But John 1752 was born in, worked, married and died in Canterbury, Kent. So this link is uncertain though not impossible. Lincolnshire William's wife is Sarah Taylor and his parents were John and Mary Royes.
