NOTE that within this site there are four trees. The default tree is Roy~Royes, the others best described as collections rather than "trees". Two are for research, and one for fun:
Roy miscellaneous - people who may be connected if we can find that connection, plus other Roy families in Australia;
Royes miscellaneous - people who may be connected if we can find that connection, plus other Royes families in Australia;
Scandinavian sagas - mythical figures sometimes claimed to be in the Hougham-d'Avranches pedigree.

Featured Most Wanted
There were four Royes siblings who arrived in Australia between about 1828 and 1838. Maria married Frederick Christian Luther and lived south west of Sydney. Their daughter married a Dunn. It would be good to have more information about the Luthers and Dunns. See the summary under Most Wanted (use the link above).

Featured History
Maurie Roy's mother was Agnes Logan, from Larne, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. This featured history describes that family and something of its origins.
Agnes's father, Sam Logan, was illegitimate though his father is listed as a Robert Logan. He was born in Loughconnolly, not far from Larne. Shortly before his marriage he bought a large expensive family Bible - perhaps a statement over against his origins and a determination to have a "normal" family. |
Featured Overviews
A key figure in the Royes family tree is Solomon Hougham (c1475-c1518). There is a descendant chart with links to six branches (including the Royes) giving an overview of branches featured in this family tree site. There is a link also to his pedigree chart of 32 generations. (As always, you are urged to see the Histories item "How reliable is our data?")
