The first thing to point out is that there are dynamic, interactive charts available on a person's page under ancestors or descendants - there is an example on the right. You may find these more useful than the overview charts for "chasing" a line of ancestors or descendants.
The overview charts (select "Overviews" from the Media drop-down menu) are designed to give a big picture view of family trees which link from one chart (= family branch) to another - there is an example on the left.
A full list of charts is available via a link on the main Overviews page - or click here. There are also pedigree charts for key family branches and an overview chart of the links between family branches. And you will find a list of "tree tops" for Maurie Roy and May Royes - that is, the first back you can go in any particular branch.
Navigation from chart to chart is via the and buttons. There may be more than one of each on a chart because of multiple links, espcially when moving "down" the tree.
Some of the boxes on these charts will take you to a person or family page. As a general rule, at least the first box will link you into the family tree data, but sometimes there are several such links. Running your cursor over the chart and watching for it to change to the symbol for a link will tell you which ones are active.
