Bell | Hutchinson Royes | 1842-1886 | assistant surgeon.
According to information re: his brother Mark the family left Australia for England when Mark was an infant - after 1847 when his father died and his youngest sister was born. They are in the Channel Islands census for 1851.
Several sources refer to him having never married and living with his two sisters.
The College of Physicians of Philadelphia library http://www.collphyphil.org/FIND_AID/hist/histja1.htm contains reference to correspondence by a John Asshurst jr to H Royes Bell of London, England on 27 Nov 1884. A Dr John Royes Bell is quoted in No. 11 in The Physicians' And Students' Ready Reference Series: History Of Circumcision From The Earliest Times To The Present as having written an entry in The International Encyclopedia of Surgery (Asshurst, Philadelphia: 1886). Is this an indication of confusion about the names or did John and Hutchinson Royes (known as Royes) Bell combine to contribute the article?
He is referred to frequently in Yseult Bridges book on the death of Charles Bravo (his cousin)
James Ruddick comments that Charles Turner Bravo and Royes Bell played together as boys in St Anns Jamaica. This is not impossible but there is no evidence for this and Ruddick does not supply any. If it were the case, then presumably his mother Emily and family had visited her brother Charles after the 1851 Census and before Charles and Royes would no longer be termed "boys" - perhaps 1852-55.
Ruddick also says that Royes was just a year older than Charles - all the data says that he was 3-4 years older. [4, 5]
