There are three Anglo-Saxon kings named Aelle or Ella:
Aelle of Sussex - reigned 477-~514
Aelle of Deira d588
Aelle II of Northumbria - reigned 862-867.
As you can see from the date of birth in our data, our Ella doesn't quite fit any of these. The inherited data describes him as "king in England" so this is probably intended as a reference to the Ella (or Aelle) referred to by the Venerable Bede - the first one mentioned above.
