Notes |
- Olive Bromley known as Violet Olive Kerr, was adopted by Archibald & Annie Kerr. Olive was never legally adopted, she was handed to the Kerrs at Turangarere on or about January 1906 by Isabella and her brother James. I do have a copy of a legal document making a declaration of these facts signed 16 August 1922. [2]

- [S292] Correspondence re: Bromley and Healey, Bronwyn Violet Bartle nee Phillips, 9 Jul 2014.
I am the Great granddaughter of Isabella Bromley (b 1882) her parents were Emily Jane Lewis and James Hindsley (b 9 March 1852) Isabella had a daughter (Olive Bromley) out of wedlock born on 2 October 1901 and gave her away to Archibald and Annie Kerr when she was two, just before Isabella married Archibald Macintyre on 24 January 1903 in Bulls. Olive known to us as Violet is my Grandmother who sadly past away when she was just 40 years old, when my mother Agnes was only 13 years old. I am just trying to find out as much as I can on Isabella's Bromley's and her family.
