- From A SHORT HISTORY OF THE OLD ENGLISH MASTIFF CLUB:
Miss Ianthe Bell who joined the club in 1925 and who died suddenly in 1960 was a Vice-President and served on the Committee for many years. She bred many champion Mastiffs from the time she acquired her first Mastiff in 1924, and her influence on the breed was great. Her prefix in the pedigree is Withybush. She left money for the purchase of trophies to the memory of four of her Champions and all her photographs of Mastiffs which have been put in an album given by Mrs Hector.

- Nora Margaret Bell occurs in some records as Margaret Nora Bell. She was known as Margaret.
In the 1891 census there is some confusing data when compared with other information we have:
There were also 5 servants.
|Nora M Bell||Head||32||Stonehouse, Devon|
|Alfred H M Bell ||son||9||Ireland|
|L????? R M Bell||daughter||8||Ireland|
|Robert de H Bell||son||5||Devonport, Devon|
|Laura J de H Bell||daughter||2||Devonport, Devon|
Alfred should be Anthony, Laura should be Ianthe. This is not a transcription error so who completed the census information? We have no other information about the daughter (LRM) whose name is unreadable - did she not live to adulthood?
