Using this site
The ancestor tab offers various options for examining a person's ancestors (or pedigree). Notice that with each view you can choose up to ten generations. Charts with the larger sized boxes will be harder to manage on your screen the more generations you choose. The default is set to 4.
The standard view shows a person's name and photo, with options for viewing information about the person in the box or moving the chart up and down the generations.
The Compact view contains no detailed information about the people in the chart but is a convenient way of having a quick view of a large family.
The Box view shows the basic information about each person (though the information may be cut off and the only way to see the rest is to go to that person's page - click on the person's name).
The Text view is like the Box chart but without graphics. Because it is a text view there are no interactive buttons though ==> is a link like the left arrow in the other charts.
The Ahnentafel view is a text (document) style view suitable for a word processor. Ahnentafel is a genealogical standard way of presenting family trees in this manner - see Glossary.
The Media view lists the ancestors as per your selection of the number of generations and indicates with a camera symbol whether this person has any attached media (photos, documents, etc.)
The PDF tab allows you to produce a pdf document whose ouput is similar to the Text view. You have options for setting the fonts, page size and page margins:
