TNG uses the term "event" to describe any event or fact about a person, family or source. The basic ones are birth, baptism/christening, marriage, death and burial but there is a range of other facts such as occupation, whether known by another name, electoral roll registrations, census returns, etc. You can see these by selecting "Other Search Criteria" at the bottom of the Search People and Search Families pages (under Find). All events are listed below.

You can search for people who meet an event criteria on the Search People and Search Families links (under Find). For example, if you want to see who is recorded in an Australian electoral roll for the year 1936, go to Search People, select "Other Search Criteria", scroll down to Registration, select "contains" for Place and type in "Australia", then select "exact" for year, and type in 1936.

You might also try Sources (under Info), search for "electoral" and select "Australian Electoral Rolls". You will find every one who is linked to this source though you won't be able to search for a specific year.

This is a list of events currently used (this may change slightly with site development). Be aware that some of these events are "custom events" peculiar to our family tree, and are not in the GEDCOM standard (for which see Genealogy Stuff > GEDCOMs under the Reference menu item above.

Under Info>Reports there is a list of active event types towards the end of the list - or use this link.
