Surname search

The Find drop-down menu/"Surnames" link provides a quick way of finding people if you know their surname and how to spell it. If you don't know how to spell it, use Search for Names and take advantage of the Soundex or Metaphone facilities.

1. You can search for surnames using the alphabetical listing.
2. The top 30 surnames are listed and their frequency indicated if you are looking to see what surnames predominate in the family tree.
3. You can extend the search beyond the top 30 to whatever number you type in the field provided.

You can search to see who is linked to a Place via any event.
